FAQ

1

Why Mindmapping with a Moderator?

A moderator helps to keep all participants in sync.

2

What is mind mapping?

We see mindmapping as explorative and authentic process of structured thought which is deeply individual.

3

Why community Mindmapping?

Community Mindmapping, to help to reveal a broader perspective beyond our own.

Beyond that it is super engaging to get curious hearing everyone out or even to disagree.

The moderators goal is to have everyone heard, but also questioned, to reveal new details.

4

How this idea was born?

The Founder of this plattform, (Martin:) had a lot of joy with this format in offline sessions when he was a trainer. He had amazing conversations. So he decided to create it online and make it accessibale to everyone.

5

How does a session work?

Check the upcomming sessions; choose what you like to talk about; join and have a great time together.

6

What is the attitude of a moderator?

The moderators attitude keeps an open, explorative conversation running. Disagreements are great, but in the moment it gets slightly personal, we strictly move on. The moderator is also instructed to ask the main question again and again. The best ideas come when participants are next to running out of words.

7

Why can't every participant design the mind map directly?

Instead of all participants randomly adding to the mindmap without interactions, the moderator and the visual buildup helps to keep people in sync.

8

How do most people misunderstand mind mapping?

Many see Mindmaps as hierarchically organized tree structure. Instead here at the MindMapClub, we strongly see mindmapping as a process which is based on, what we call associative truth, meaning, what is the next thing my brain thinks of- when i hear, or see this?

9

What influence does social mindmapping have on your memory?

With a zoomable endless-canvas, Moderators help organize clear thoughts through visual hierarchy (bigger/smaller), node-location (position) and spatial proximity (distance); all in a social context. The Titles themselves open the goalspace, aka. the contrast we like to explore.
